Faux Plaster VS Actual Plaster

Faux Plaster VS Actual Plaster

Ornamental plaster ceilings have existed for many centuries and has origins tracing back to early Europe. Much plasterwork is done the same way today as it was over 200 years ago by casting plaster in molds. Although this ancient method can yield beautiful ornamental traceries, the process can be both time consuming and very expensive.

Ceiling Art Store's faux plaster ceiling decor is a more affordable alternative to authentic plaster ceiling treatments. We maintain the luxurious appeal of plaster ceiling traceries, but with lightweight and easier to install materials. Instead of using actual plaster, we use a wood composite material called medium density fiberboard (MDF). MDF is very versatile in its application and has the perfect composition to closely imitate the look of plaster. To the naked eye, it’s virtually identical.

To purchase your very own faux plaster ceiling treatment, simply choose your favorite design, then select the 'Plaster White' finish and you're all set!
